Aaron J. Nurick, Ph.D
Bio
Aaron J. Nurick is Professor of Management and Psychology at Bentley University. He received his B.S. in Business Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and his Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. He holds a postdoctoral certificate from the Boston Institute for Psychotherapy as well as certifications in mediation and emotional intelligence assessment. Dr. Nurick's teaching and scholarship have been devoted to the application of psychology to management and organizations. His published work includes articles in the Academy of Management Learning and Education Journal, Journal of Management Inquiry, Psychological Bulletin, Human Relations, Human Resource Management, Organizational Behavior Teaching Review, Journal of Management Education, Business Horizons, and Human Resource Planning among others. He is also the author of two books: The Good Enough Manager: The Making of a GEM (Routledge), and Participation in Organizational Change: The TVA Experiment (Praeger). He was selected as one of the first two endowed teaching professors at Bentley University and held the Wilder Teaching Professorship for the maximum five year appointment. He is a recipient of two of Bentley’s highest faculty honors, the Gregory H. Adamian Award for Excellence in Teaching for his courses on interpersonal behavior in management and organizational behavior, and the Joseph M. Cronin Award for Excellence in Academic Advising. He has served in several academic leadership positions at Bentley University including a seven-year term as Chair of the Management Department, Chair of the Promotion and Tenure Committee, and was elected as the first Chair of the Faculty Senate. He has consulted and conducted management development seminars with profit and non-profit organizations with an emphasis on interpersonal relations, emotional intelligence, diversity, and organizational change. Recent clients include Boston Financial Data Services, Boston Private Bank, Staples, L.L. Bean, and the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority.
